Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
As we welcome a return to warmer weather, the aftermath of this unprecedented deep freeze will be felt for some time yet. Thankfully, our residents and team members are safe, and our utilities and services are fully operational.
I’d like to express my sincere thanks to residents and staff, particularly the group of team members who stayed at the community for days on end, for their flexibility and patience last week.
It was certainly an uncomfortable situation for all of us, and our togetherness and community spirit were once again inspiring. Our thoughts are with those friends and family members who were significantly impacted by this stretch of weather across our state.
Last Friday, approximately 190 residents, staff and caregivers participated in our third and final vaccination clinic. Again, our gratitude goes to Walgreens pharmacy and all those who volunteered to make these clinics so efficient and successful.
We have resumed regular COVID-19 testing and are pleased to continue to see our positive cases decline. We welcomed four (4) staff recoveries this week, which leaves us with six (6) total cases – five (5) team members and one (1) resident.
About half of these individuals have already received their first negative test, including the resident. Per our protocols, the team members are self-isolating at their homes while the resident is quarantined in our dedicated COVID unit.
For now, we remain on schedule to begin a gradual reopening of services in mid-March. We should have more details and information to share in next week’s update, so please watch for that.
In the meantime, please stay safe and remember our most important mitigation tools: masks, frequent hand washing, and diligent social distancing.
